Every person who write on the Internet want to do one thing: build up their business so that they do not have to work as much and still make a lot of money. This is a fairly simple idea and for the most part people can do this and they can do it in a reasonable timeframe.

With building an online business, there is one point that is the same as building a business offline. That is getting and keeping and also increasing traffic. All online businesses need traffic and they all need to have a solid foundation in traffic building to make money.

Below are seven detail points that can increase traffic over time and build up your business to the point that you do not have to work as much.

1) Content and length: For some places such as a blog, content style posts can be short and on other they can be somewhat long. For websites content needs to be longer, since often it is considered evergreen. Know what you are writing for which audience.

2) Web readers, read fast: Most web readers are lurkers, and they will come and go fairly quickly on your site and then off your site. Make sure that what you want them to do or to read is near the top of your page.

3) Link between pages: Simple, effect and increases the time that someone is on the page. As a bonus, the better the links between the pages, and blog posts, the more likely a certain page will be looked upon well with the search engines.

4) Your readers care: Do not write only for the search engines, but also for your readers. In many ways assume that they are smarter than you.

5) Update your content frequently. This is important if you want to be seen by the various search engines. Most of them love to see frequently updated sites. Even adding a new post can make the difference.

6) Know how to build your traffic: In other words if your traffic comes from a particular site, and you can add links from there, this is exactly what you need to do to increase traffic. These are outside links, but you must provide quality to the reader.

7) Link in more than one place. Avoiding the link farms is important, but there are hundreds of excellent websites and online article sites where you can create and improve your work. This means that you can build your links from 20 different places and you will increase traffic from more places sooner than later.
